Veterans find strength, community in fitness groups like Team Tillman and November Project

The reality of aging is that after the age of 30, most people begin to lose strength and muscle mass. Without intervention, this decline continues. However, the good news is that it’s never too late to start regaining strength and improving fitness, no matter what your knees might be telling you. And it doesn’t have to be an all-or-nothing approach like military PT.

Two organizations are offering great opportunities to help people get moving while building community. One is Team Tillman, founded in honor of Pat Tillman. This group brings people together through endurance challenges and exercise groups while raising money for scholarships benefiting military veterans and their families.

The other group, the November Project, focuses on high-energy, free workouts in cities across the country, helping participants build community through fitness. Both organizations emphasize fun, fitness, and camaraderie, proving it’s never too late to get involved and get moving.
