The American Legion – Minnesota

The Department serves its members building relationships to promote The American Legion’s programs, patriotism and honor, to make our communities better and stronger. The Department will develop a culture of growth by preparing generations of our Veteran brothers and sisters to meet their citizenship obligations.  Additionally, there are 548 posts across the state.


Minnesota VFW

The Department of Minnesota, VFW
serves Minnesota veterans, service members, their families, and our communities. They welcome today’s military service members into their ranks to become part of their elite group. The common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. For membership, there are more than 200 posts across the state.


VFW Auxiliary Department of Minnesota

The Minnesota Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is an organization consisting of spouses, fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, sons, daughters, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandsons and granddaughters of those persons, both male and female that have honorably served in the Armed Forces of the United States. Within the state, there are over 21,000 members.


Disabled American Veterans of Minnesota

Minnesota Veterans answered when their state and nation called on them and it’s the DAV of Minnesota’s turn to be there for them. Their statewide membership network of 32 chapters is comprised exclusively of disabled Minnesota veterans. From transporting veterans to medical appointments to collecting clothing donations to rallying at the Capitol for Veteran legislation, their members and supporters are working to ensure Veterans prosper long after they hang up the uniform.


Minnesota Paralyzed Veterans of America

Minnesota Paralyzed Veterans of America assists veterans with spinal cord injury and disorders, working to enhance the lives of SCI/D veterans.  MNPVA also works with many veteran and disabled partners, allowing collaboration on joint goals. MNPVA strives to enhance the quality of life for disabled veterans, with their core programs.


AMVETS – Minnesota

The Minnesota Department of The American Veterans Association serves all veterans in the state of Minnesota with their mission to help veterans and their families to navigate the various local, state and federal programs available. There are 24 posts throughout the state.


County Veteran Service Officers

MACVSO is the Professional, state-wide organization made up of over 120 specially trained and certified Veterans Advocates known as County Veterans Service Officers who work collaboratively with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, and Nationally chartered Veterans Service Organizations to promote the interests and welfare of U.S. Armed Forces Veterans, their family members and survivors. They strive to enhance the quality of their clients lives through advocacy, counseling, claims assistance, and special programs.
