A viral video circulating online claims that the recent Los Angeles fires were intentionally ignited by flame-throwing drones. The video, which presents itself as a breaking news report, includes what appears to be footage of a drone setting a fire, a newscaster’s voice, and a branded “breaking news” logo.
However, a closer examination reveals that the video is entirely misleading. The breaking news logo is a free stock template commonly used in video editing software, and the newscaster’s voice is generated using a voice-changing feature within the same program.
As for the footage of the so-called “flame-spraying drone,” while it is real, it is not from Los Angeles. The clip originates from Ukrainian military drone test footage, taken in a completely different context. Weaponized drones have been modified and used in combat scenarios for years, making the presence of such footage unsurprising, but it has no connection to the LA fires.
There is no evidence to support claims that drones were responsible for the recent fires in Los Angeles. This conspiracy theory, like many others, relies on deceptive editing and out-of-context footage to spread misinformation.
Fact-checking every video on the internet is a time-consuming process, and most people don’t have the time to verify every clip they come across.
